About Flavian Augustine
A Journey Through Art and Passion
Flavian Augustine, born in Geita, Tanzania—a town known for its rich gold mining heritage—discovered his love for art at just five years old. He spent hours drawing and copying images from newspapers, showcasing an early talent that hinted at his future in art. However, a lack of family support made it difficult for him to pursue his dreams, and he paused his artistic journey. But at 21, Flavian reignited his passion, immersing himself in hyperrealism—a style that captures human emotion and intricate details with striking accuracy.
Based in Dar es Salaam, Flavian quickly became a well-regarded figure in the Tanzanian art scene, sharing his deeply expressive works with audiences at exhibitions across the country. His art, rich in detail and emotion, invites viewers into a world of beauty and contemplation. Currently, as an artist-in-residence at the Four Seasons Serengeti, he is focused on capturing Tanzania's iconic wildlife, using his art to raise awareness about conservation and the importance of preserving natural wonders like the Serengeti.
Through exhibitions at venues such as Rangi Gallery and the Four Seasons, Flavian’s work continues to inspire others, highlighting the transformative power of art. For him, each piece is a story, a dedication to Tanzania’s beauty, and a call to protect it for future generations.
